An Interview with BMI recording artist
“Cliff Sherry” of King ED and the Family Jewels.
By Ruby Tuesday

Recently I got in touch with King Ed drummer Cliff Sherry for a short interview and we got a few more pictures of the band to put on the web site.

Cliff, what is the name of the band and what is your position?  King Ed and the Family Jewels is our name.
I’m the drummer and I do backing vocals and lyrics as well.

Tell us what motivated you to become a King Ed member?  Well It started about 10 years ago when I met Ed in college at Florida State University here in Tallahassee. We both had been playing music since we where kids. Ed really loves playing the blues so he asked me to start a blues band.

How would you best describe your style and how did it develop?  Blues!  We love Stevie Ray Vaughn, Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy, Jimi Hendrix,  Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Chris Duarte

.Which are the bands favorite tracks from the CD …and what is it about these particular songs that make them special?  I personally like "I'm Not The One".  it seems to be the most complete track. I also love the 12/8 "The Door Is Closed".  That was recorded live with everyone in the room.

What venues do you play?  At this time mostly bars in the Tallahassee and surrounding area.

When asked about the long term plans for the band Cliff replied; We're going through some personnel changes at this time, but we'd like to record a new album soon and play more shows.

We hope they do as we really like their style of blues!
